One of the 20th century’s greatest photographers, Edward Weston (1886-1958), became famous primarily for his black and white photographs of landscapes, still lifes, nudes, and cats. Born in Highland Park, Illinois, he moved to California at 21 to join his sister and to escape a step-mother and step-brother with whom he did not get along.
