Nikola Tesla July 1856 – 7 January was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist, and futurist who is best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system.

In 1895 Nikola Tesla was attributed to inventing the radio. Most historians acknowledge that tesla created the conventional means of generating and controlling radio signals by tuning two Tesla coils to the same resonant frequency.  Controversy stirred after the Italian inventor Guglielmo Marconi received a patent for the invention of the radio. Eventually in 1943 the Supreme Court settled the case in favor of Tesla.
