Cool Down Cubes - great for students who have difficulty with anger. Using a permanent marker, write a safe "cool down" strategy on each ice cube. For example: count to ten, walk away, talk to a friend, take three deep breaths, etc. I also left a few of the cubes blank so that the students could come up with their own strategies.

During the month of January kiddos are trying to earn marshmallow points for their class. They earn points for making good choices, following the class rules, and going above and beyond in first grade. If the class fills the mug by the end of the month, they earn a hot cocoa party!

Super cute idea for a classroom reward - Kids try to earn "Marshmallow Points" for the class. When the mug is full, they get a hot chocolate party! I also did this with a penguin and individual hot cocoa cups for each student to earn rewards.
