This hat is what I think of when I see the words "stacked shell stitch, but I don't know if that's what it is. I have a hard time seeing the shells in these patterns. Gives it its own, nice look, for sure.

This is a PDF crochet pattern for a beanie with a hole in the top to allow for a ponytail or messy bun. The hole uses an elastic hair tie to stretch over a bun but still stay snug for a ponytail. Keep your hair up and out of the way but still stay warm! The pattern has been designed to work with any weight of yarn and any gauge. It is very easy to customize for size or gauge.
