Because so much of this room is tonal, subtle design elements make a big statement. I knew Patti loved wallpaper, so I went with one that would create a great feature wall while still keeping the master bedroom calm, neutral and peaceful. So much in this space plays on texture—the wallpaper, the rug, the roman shades, and the bedding—and when it all comes together, it feels really cozy and calming.
The ceiling treatment in here added a great deal of architectural detail to the dining room. It gives this space a grand, traditional feel while creating a distinct focal point. The detail makes the room feel larger and draws your eye right up to it. We painted the room and the ceiling a light shade of blue, to make the trimwork and white wainscoting look even more dramatic.
