Lettering is a combination of Black and Tuscan Teal. This piece is handpainted and sanded for a distressed shabby chic/vintage look. It is then sealed with a water based finish. The back is left unfinished and comes ready to hang.
Making an "Antique" Sign | Miss Mustard Seed
How to make an antique sign. After painting the sign (full tutorial included), use a soft cloth to apply a dark brown furniture wax in a thin layer to entire surface of sign. The wax will settle in the imperfections in the wood, giving the sign an authentically aged look. Allow wax to dry for 3-5 minutes, then buff to a shine with a clean cloth.
