Nyepi Day - Bali Silence Day

Nyepi Day or Bali Silence Day is a break from the usual thing, even though only for 1 day and 1 night. The sound of nature is only what can you hear. No machines, No vehicles passing by and a deserted street. It is just silence.

Unlike in any other countries where New Year is celebrated in revelry, Balinese people open the New Year in silence. This is called Nyepi, a Balinese “Day of Silence” that is commemorated every Çaka New Year (Tahun Baru Saka) according to the Balinese calendar which this year, it falls on March 21. It is a Hindu celebration mainly celebrated in Bali, Indonesia and declared as a public holiday.
