Chickens & Gardening • Lyndsey Gaskins on Instagram: "We had so many predators try to get into our last coop, and this time around I never wanted to have that worry again. We poured a cement footing all the way around the run, connecting to the coop on either side. Each run is 10x16ft, and the coop is sitting on a 10x14ft cement pad. Besides being super predator proof, the great thing about the cement footing (and pad), is that when it rains the wood is not sitting straight on top of water or wet mud, so it will last a lot longer. It also makes for a very sturdy and stable setup, no wonky doors or walls here! 💪🏼 👉🏻ALSO—Please please please know: Chicken wire is NOT predator proof! It was meant to keep chickens in, but not predators out. Foxes, dogs, raccoons (and so on) can tear r
