Wilmington Delaware Police Dept. 1939. I'm curious as to what this photo shows. The State Archives caption says " Wilmington Police Department changes at City Hall, unidentified man being finger printed" but it looks more like a policeman operating some sort of machine that punches holes in a tape. Is it some sort of teletype messaging system?
I'm lucky enough to have a local park within walking distance of my home. The Brandywine Park in Wilmington, DE extends from Christina River through the Brandywine Creek. The picnic area outside of the zoo features the Josephine Fountain and is lined with various types of Cherry Trees including Japanese, Yoshino, and Sakura. This image captures the beauty and fragility of the Yoshino Cherry Blossoms.
