Spirula is the only genus of squid with an internal shell, a relic of their ammonoid ancestors. When spirula die their fragile shells float to the surface and are collected on the beaches as "rams' horn shells." This one is encrusted with barnacles.
The Oarfish is a rare, solitary, and giant denizen of the ocean depths (arguably larger than a Whale Shark. (The as opposed to the Whale Shark, in the Guinness Book of World Records.)) and is a filter feeder, comfortable cruising at depths of 200 m.
Boycott Sea World. Orcas teeth are ground down to the nerves, when they are in captivity. They endure unnatural conditions and breeding. Please do not support the captivity of Orcas or other marine life.
