Azay-le-Rideau

Strategically located at a bridging point on the Indre on the main road from Tours to Chinon, Azay was soon fortified. When Charles VII was Dauphin, he was insulted by the Burgundian guard as he passed through Azay. Instant reprisals followed. The town was seized and burnt and the Captain and his 350 soldiers were executed. Azay was called Azay-le-Brule (Azay the Burnt) until the 18th century.

Yah, now that I look at it, I probably overdid the sky. May go back and tone it down.

Château de Chambord, France...

Built as a hunting lodge for François I, Château de Chambord is one of the finest examples of the Renaissance architecture in France. It took over 30 years to build during the 16th century. To me, it’s one of the most extravagant châteaux with elaborate rooftop of 800 sculpted columns and over 440 rooms and 85 staircases, making it the largest château in the Loire Valley.
