The Thinker
The blank head in my studio has joined it's friends now. I wanted to show you the finished piece: The Thinker Keeping a blank head in my studio was not easy. Every time I saw it I thought about what to cover it in. I thought it would be great covered in buttons, or sequins or fabric. I thought about using feathers, beads and vintage pattern paper. I contemplated slicing it in half, turning it into a piggy bank or even trying to see if I could attach it to a body. I could not stop thinking…

Mannequin Heads
Hi! And welcome to my Mannequin Heads Page. This is where I will list all the assemblages that are made using mannequin heads. Some are the mannequin heads a hair stylist might use to practice on, while others are styrofoam head forms, the kind used to display wigs or hats. I created these various pages so that visitors who may be interested in seeing a specific genre of the work I've made over the years, can see them all in one place. If you see one that is of interest to you, and you would…

Flapper Art Couture Mannequin Head Handpainted Yardley | Etsy
My inspiration for this mannequin was the Yardley cometics of the 60's. Remember Twiggy and those cute little striped lipstick cases and gloss pots ? AHHHHHH the 1960's !! Those were the days !! ********This is a 11" styrofoam mannequin head bust that I have painted in a vintage style smoking flapper boudoir doll. Her dress is molded on which adds more weight and stability. What a great way to display your vintage hats and necklaces !!! She's the perfect salesgirl for your business or a fun…

DIY Decoupage Mannequin Head Crafts
For some reason I love these mannequin heads! My first head is the newspaper crossword puzzle one I made to model my earrings. It was decoupaged with a matte finish to prevent shine for the photographs. I get my heads at Sally's Beauty Supply; I have seen them online but they cost quite a bit more. This map head is my latest, made with an old Alberta road map! If you use a map, the older and more used, the easier it is to decoupage because the paper is "softer" and will mold to the shape of…
