Zane held the phone up to Sam's ear. Sam made no move to take it. "Hey. Whats happening." There was indistinct babble from the phone. Sam paused to listen, his face impassive, eyes barely narrowed. Zane watched Sam as he conducted his business over the phone, contemplated how like an old thing he seemed in this moment, surrounded by the young things he ran with as if he forgot he was not, strictly, one of them. It took a moment for him to realize Sam was watching back.
