Plan Ahead: Make tart and then place in refrigerator for 4 hours before serving. Or prepare one day ahead. You will need an 11x1 inch round tart pan with a removable bottom. This dessert is worth purchasing the pan. You will use the pan again with my Crazy Good Fruit Tart page 291.

Gable Mansion

Happy Birthday, Eutin! One of the things I really appreciate about Woodland is its wisdom in valuing its history, especially its historic houses. Of course, we have nothing on Eutin as far as "age" goes! The Gable Mansion, an outstanding example of 19th-century Victorian Italianate architecture, is one of the last of its style, size, and proportion in California. This structure was built in 1885 for Amos and Harvey Gable, pioneer Yolo County ranchers.
