The Monument of Jalesveva Jayamahe, also locally shortened as Monjaya, is a 60.6-meter icon of the harbor. It was built in 1990 and officially finished and opened as a meeting hall for formal events in 1996. Made by a prominent Indonesian sculptor, Nyoman Nuarta, the statue is among the tallest in the world.
