Seminole Indian camping ground in the Everglades. About 1910. Right before patchwork, when strips of color start to appear on the shirts and dresses. One man wears a boler hat with a bird plume in front. Several women and girls in the center, with some cooking pots. A quilt or blanket is draped over a tree branch in the background.
Seminole Tribe Okalee Indian Village; since replaced by the Hard Rock. Gift shop. I like the little chickee doll houses. The mural on the back wall was painted by the famous Oklahoma Seminole artist, Jerome Tiger. When they tore down the place to build the Hard Rock resort, the tribe did save the mural.
