Walking into Homepolish designer Louisa Roeder's landmarked 1870 Brooklyn brownstone, one is struck by the stunning grand staircase. Though she felt guilty about adding paint, it gave levity to the otherwise dark space. Crown moldings and the stair treads were painted, and a runner was added as well.
