Winter Wren by David Cree

Winter Wren (with the amusing Latin name troglodytes troglodytes) sometimes roosts communally when cold weather hits. Although unusual, roosting groups can be large; more than 30 wrens were found in one nest in Washington State, USA.

male_carolina_wren. In my three years being here I've never seen one of these till this summer and now they're all over.

State Bird of South Carolina: Carolina Wren (Thryothorus ludovicianus). Access South Carolina official bird's description, history, and picture.

A Wren flew into my house today, I am reminded of Celt bird lore...a Wren is an embodiment of the divine feminine, but was oddly known as the 'king' of birds due to her immense singing voice. Due to this, she was beloved by Bards and thought to inspire joy, light heartedness, and creativity in all it's forms...message received and understood!!

Wren. The wren is a tiny brown bird, although it is heavier, less slim, than the even smaller goldcrest. It is dumpy, almost rounded, with a fine bill, quite long legs and toes, very short round wings and a short, narrow tail which is sometimes cocked up vertically. For such a small bird it has a remarkably loud voice. It is the commonest UK breeding bird, although it suffers declines during prolonged, severely cold winters.

The wren- a small common bird. Easy to re-create, lots of information available.

I love fairy wrens, I've included this photo because we received a framed picture of a pair of wrens for our engagement.

Found in south-east Queensland, south to Tasmania, across Victoria to the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. Generally within 200 kms from the coast. Also up the Murray River and Lachlan River in New South Wales.

The little wren - one of my favorite birds.

"Carolina Wren" - Built a nest, laid eggs, raised fledglings and those fledglings learned to fly all in my carport.
