If you need to take out a Hollywood starlet on location in Tobago, head to The Seahorse Inn and order it, oh so casually. This 1994 apparently has an unbelievable nose of earth, black plum, cinnamon, and camphor flowers. It has notes of rich fruit along with great acidity and an endless perfectly delineated finish. On top of that it has the structure to last for 40-50 more years. What will it be worth by then?

Fernandes Fine Wines & Spirits has carefully selected to stock Château d’Yquem, from the Sauternes, Gironde region in the southern part of the Bordeaux vineyards. In the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855, Château d’Yquem was the only Sauternes given the rating of Premier Cru Supérieur (that’s french for “Superior First Growth”).

Barolo is a red wine produced in the northern Italian region of Piedmont from the Nebbiolo grape, and is often described as one of Italy’s greatest wines. Barolos tend to be rich, deeply concentrated full bodied wines with pronounced tannins and acidity. The wines are almost always lightly colored varying from ruby to garnet in their youth to more brick and orange hues as they age. We couldn’t find a review for this bottle anywhere, but we trust Chaud Café, they haven’t let us down so far.

Opus One wine would never have been if not for a meeting between Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild in 1970 at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel on the Big Island of Hawaii. They decided to collaborate and merge old world and new world wine styles into one grand opus (cool story bro).

Château Pétrus strikes again! But this one is a vintage from the actual 1800s. The exact year we couldn’t find out. It’s not exactly on display behind the bar. The bottle is under lock and key and kept out of sunlight. It’s approaching mythical status for local oenophiles (oenos is a greek word for wine) who wonder if it will be ever be purchased.

Excuse us. Bottle Stop very smartly stocks such a progressive, impressive wine. The 2008 is very deeply coloured with a deep purple core. Exotic, seductive and forward nose with masses of fruit, noble meat and vanilla. Concentrated but not a fruit bomb. Dense on palate with fine Margaux -like texture and endless finish. Wow…

Château Margaux, is an estate of Bordeaux wine, and was one of four wines to achieve Premier cru (first growth) status in the Bordeaux Classification of 1855. Hoitey Toitey alert! Plus this vintage is great. Jaffa’s selection is on point. We’ve read that it has distinctive characteristics: power, depth, complexity, but also subtlety and harmony.
