In August 1921 Mrs Daphne Milne came to Harrods to buy a teddy bear as a first birthday present for her son Christopher Robin. Her husband, author A. A. Milne, then created wonderfully imaginative stories centred around his son's bear, and five years later in 1926 Harrods was advertising the publication of his "delightful book" - Winnie-the-Pooh.
