HANDSLAB is a hand-drawn, extended slab serif display typeface with a block drop shadow. The name was chosen to pay homage to the hand-crafted process of recreating historic extended slab serif letterforms from my mental impression of them, thus containing subtle quirky inconsistencies. The regular set and drop shadow were created as separate layers to produce a flexible system for use in print and on the web. It has a modern feel with a hint of the functional, industrial history of the early 20th century and it's perfect for custom headlines, messaging and other medium-to-large scale design elements. Not inspired by any one thing, Candy Randy came about as an attempt to capture the feel of hours spent aimlessly perusing children's advertising and packaging from the early 1960s. It always reminds me a bit of Christmas and was named after an imaginary character in tales told to my youngest sister. Font supports basic Latin and Western European diacritics. This download contains TTF (True Type Font) and OTF (Open Type Font) files plus a web font kit (TTF, WOFF, WOFF2).
