Today's recipe may seem basic, but it's one of the fundamentals of Indian cooking and something you'll be doing all the time. There are various ways to cook rice, this is my preferred method to make simple boiled rice. There are a couple of restaurant tips in here to make your rice fluffy and bright....

1 cup Basmati rice 
Approx 1.5 cups water 

1. Wash the rice till the water runs somewhat clear. 
2. Soak the rice for at least 20 minutes or up to an hour. 
3. Drain and place the rice in a pan and cover with water. The water should be about a knuckles height above the top of the rice.

Ingredients: 🔸Raw rice - 1kg 🔸Coconut water - 3cups 🔸Sugar - 1tbsp 🔸Salt - to taste 🔸Water - as required 🔸Boiled rice - 3cup 🔸Coconut flesh/tender coconut - 1 small size . Method: 🔸Take 3cups of coconut water n add sugar in it and mix well. Rest it for one day. Next day the coconut water will ferment. 🔸Wash well and then soak the raw rice overnight. 🔸After the soaking process, grind raw rice, grated coconut & cooked rice with fermented coconut water as shown in the video. 1. Preheat your pot, then add about four tablespoons of ghee or butter and a drizzle of olive oil.
2. Add in three nests of vermicelli egg noodle. Toast until nice and golden.
3. Add about two and a half to three cups of washed basmati rice. Stir until the rice is lightly toasted.
4. Add one tablespoon of salt and approximately one liter of hot water. Make sure the water level is roughly 1-2 cm above the rice.
5. Bring to a boil. Once it starts bubbling, reduce the heat to the lowest setting and cover the pot with the lid.
6. Cook for about ten minutes on the lowest setting.
7. Remove from heat and let it sit for a few minutes with the lid off the pot.
8. Fluff the rice and it’s ready to serve.
