Boris Johnson (b. 1964) is a British Conservative Party politician who was prime minister of the United Kingdom from July 2019 to September 2022. He was mayor of London (2008–16) and foreign secretary under Prime Minister Theresa May (2016–18). He led the successful ‘Leave’ campaign in the 2016 Brexit referendum, on whether the U.K. should remain in the EU.
