Serena Kerbs on Instagram: "How was your breastfeeding journey with twins? Some people assume my breastfeeding journey was easy, but it wasn’t. My twins were born at 37 weeks and I couldn’t breastfeed them exclusively until they were about 9 weeks. During that time, I was exclusively pumping every 2 hours and bottle fed them with my breastmilk. I wanted to make sure we were still working toward breastfeeding so I reached out for help. My lactation consultant recommended that I breastfeed each baby one at a time for about 8-10 minutes a day building their skills up (when they were newborns). They weren’t getting much milk from my breast because Blakely was too small and weak to latch (low birth weight) and Janine always fell asleep. This was a great time for skin to skin.
