Hopalong Cassidy, along with the Cisco Kid, my favorite Western TV heroes. I was about 2 years old.

William Boyd was Hopalong Cassidy (with his trusty Topper). Born in Hendrysburg, Belmont County, Ohio but raised in Oklahoma.

Born in 1895, in Hendrysburg, Ohio, Boyd went on to Hollywood in the 1920's, where he became a leading man in Silent film romances, earning an annual salary of 100,000.
