As OPEC and non-OPEC nations prepare to meet in Moscow on December 10 to discuss oil production limitations, residents of the Eagle Ford Shale region of South Texas are wondering how it all might impact their lives in the coming months.

Shell’s Perdido Spar, the world’s deepest drilling and production platform, floating in more than 8,000 feet of water in the Gulf of Mexico’s Alaminos Canyon area – and an important component of how Shell and its partners once solved production infrastructure problem there. The Troll field lies in the northern part of the North Sea, around 65 kilometres west of Kollsnes, near Bergen.
