More than 4 billion people live in urban areas globally. It’s now projected that by 2050, more than two-thirds of the world population will live in urban areas. So no wonder we pay more importance to the buildings and structures around us.
A couple of weeks ago, tucked away down the longest driveway ever, we found our favourite NGS garden so far. This is the delightfully pretty cottage where Judy and I spend a considerable amount of time when we are not away travelling. The former farm cottage in Isham in Northamptonshire dates from 1668 and is Grade II-listed. Originally it is thought that the ground floor was used to house animals with the living accommodation in the loft being reached via a ladder. I'm delighted to say that these days it has all mod cons.
