You can say, "As your constituent, I urge you to cosponsor the Puppy Protection Act, which will crack down on puppy mills. Pets are family members and should be treated as such. I will no longer tolerate dogs being mistreated in these inhumane facilities."

Pet stores that care about puppies don't sell them.

Puppy Mills

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) recently released its latest “Horrible Hundred” report of puppy mills in the United States. The organization describes the report as “a list of known, problematic puppy breeding and/or puppy brokering facilities." And they state that "it is not a list of all puppy mills, nor is it a list of the worst puppy mills in the country."

This is an argument against the use of #adoptdontshop, a divisive and judgmental hashtag which does little to help the dogs it professes to advocate for.
