Cornelia Buttmann-Scholl on Instagram: "Here’s a complete tutorial for Hotaru Shibori for you! 💓 Hotaru means “firefly” in Japanese, as this pattern creates pretty halos, like the light of fireflies on a beautiful summer night. ✨  Fold the fabric accordion-style, widthwise, then lengthwise again.  Create the Hotaru Shibori cushions. Form a ball with synthetic wadding (natural cotton is not so suitable, as it absorbs the dye and shrinks - you could try wool if you want it to be 100% natural). Wrap the ball with twine, crossing it as you would a parcel or gift package. Tie the string and trim off any excess. Make two identical balls.  Take a double strand of strong thread, tie a knot at the end, then sew through a small piece of tightly woven protective fabric (it keeps the knot out of the Shibori Tutorial, Knot Out, Challah Cover, Japanese Shibori, Tie A Knot, Indigo Dye, The Dye, Gift Package, Summer Night
