It's National Record Store Day on Saturday! Here's a tribute to people who took vinyl off their shelves and turned it into an art form all its own. As Matt Stopera once said, "Don't let the music die!!!"

The wonderful aspect of our world is that nothing ever remains the same; things change and everything changes and this is a wonderful thing to happen. Yes, there are many among us who bemoan (especially those of us who have lived through a certain number of years and witnessed many changes) the fact that the things we enjoyed in the past are not a part of our lives any more. That is why this article is about the wonderful world of vinyl record art to evoke the past and make it live again…

This is my prototype for a wall-hung wine rack made from old vinyl records. The records appear to float with no visible supports. On the backside, you can see

I made this by painting with acrylic paints on an old vinyl record and then melting the record into a record bowl. My bowls are finished with a shiny enamel
