Wyatt Earp #3 - In March 1881, he set out to find a posse of cowboys who had robbed a stagecoach and its driver. Earp struck a deal with rancher, Ike Clanton who dealt regularly with the cowboys. In return for his help, Earp promised Clanton a $6,000 reward. Their partnership quickly dissolved due of Clanton's paranoia that Earp would leak the details of their bargain. Virgil Walter Earp July 18, 1843 – October 19, 1905..rare photo he was 16. Virgil Earp was the older brother of Wyatt Earp and Tombstone City Marshal at the time of the famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral in 1881. After suffering from pneumonia for six months, Virgil died in the town of Goldfield, Nevada. His remains were sent to Portland, Oregon at the request of his daughter Nellie Jane Bohn and buried at the River View Cemetery, the state’s oldest nonprofit cemetery, dating back to 1882. Civil War Veteran Jacob Miller of the 9th Indiana Infantry was shot in the forehead on Sept.19th 1863 at Brock Field at Chickamauga. He survived the shot, later writing that he had a constant reminder of the Chickamauga Battlefield and the constant pain he suffered from that wound. Dave lived to be 31 years, 7 months and 4 days old. Dave's decapitated head was placed on a stake for almost three weeks after his death.
