IKAN BAKAR LEMAK PANDAN (Translating to "burned fish," ikan bakar is the catch-all term for small grilled swimmers. You'll often see it wrapped in a banana leaf before it goes on the grill, so that the leaf gets direct heat contact, rather than the fish itself; it's generally marinated in a blend of turmeric, chilis, belacan, galangal, and those other now-familiar ingredients, and served with sambal.)
Sweet cake, as sweet and pretty as its name. This is one of the popular Indonesian traditional cakes, that easy to be found in markets, local bakery and even some famous bakery. The soft texture (like pudding) is produced by the main ingredient; a combination between mung bean (hunkwe) flour and coconut milk| V.Samperuru #IndonesianCulinary
Sate Babi - Indonesian Pork Satay. Uses pork roast in cubes, lime, soy sauce, garlic, chili, galangal (can use a mix of lemongrass and turmeric instead) chili, coriander, and cumin.
gado-gado ^^~ egg, potato, vegetables, tofu, and tempe with peanut sauce! yummy #indonesianfood
Indonesian Stewed Beef (Rendang)
This luscious Indonesian dish is traditionally eaten with white rice, but it is also wonderful with crusty Italian bread.
Kue Mangkok Gula Merah
Bika Ambon (Indonesian Yeast Cake) The first few weeks after I made it to Indonesia I was offered my first piece of this amazing treat. It's truly a guilty please but if you ever ever have a chance to eat a slice DO IT! Yum!
