WILDFLOWER BOUQUET by Lori Baker, adapted from a quilt designed by Cindy LeBaron: Inspired by Cindy LeBaron’s Star Light, Lori changed the colors and added borders for her version. She pieced the LeMoyne stars with triangle-squares to eliminate Y-seams, making the block much easier. Lori's fabrics are all from the Poppies collection by Maywood Studio. Pattern in the April/May 2017 issue of McCall's Quick Quilts magazine.
THIS DAY FORWARD by Kathryn Patterson: Although her quilt is very scrappy, Kathy’s Chicken Foot blocks are pieced with 2 sets of matching fabrics for the diamond-shaped pieces and 4 each of 3 coordinating prints for the triangles. The vines, leaves, flowers, hearts and flower centers are made from many different prints. This design makes a lovely wedding quilt. Pattern in the March/April 2017 issue of McCall's Quilting magazine.
JACK IN THE BLOCKS by Colleen Hall-Patton: When it comes to scrappy reds, the more the merrier! Don’t be afraid to use a full range of reds, from scarlet to tomato to burgundy, that go from light to dark in value. While Colleen was careful to use only one red print per Jack in the Box Block, she did some mixing and matching in the Pinwheel Blocks for this queen size beauty. Pattern in the March/April 2017 issue of McCall's Quilting magazine.
