This is actually called " Fried Mush" it can also be made from cornmeal cooked like cream of Wheat or Malt-O -Meal. Let the leftover set-up/gel/thicken then slice it, fry it with a little butter, pour hot syrup over it. Yummy! I grew up eating this.
