Indonesia’s Yogyakarta city is known for many reasons. What you may not have heard of is this amazing group of structures that serve as homes for the villagers. After an earthquake destroyed their homes, 70 dome houses were built in the city. It is impressive to note that these monolithic domes can survive earthquakes and winds upto 190 mph!
Wedang uwuh so it is called. It is one of signature drinks of Imogiri, a village in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The Javanese word ‘wedang’ means drink or beverage while ‘uwuh’ is trash. It is called ‘uwuh’ referring to the ingredients consisting of bark chips, leaves, roots, seeds and rhizomes of herbs and spices.
