Second Wave Coyote Buttes North Paria Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness Arizona. The wind always seems to pick up in the afternoon and was so strong this day that I could not set up my large format so was glad I had a digital SLR. Taken about 5pm just as the last light falls on the wave and the background goes into shadow. Then a 2 hour walk back to the vehicle. This was my 3rd visit to the Wave but it's getting harder to get a permit due to its popularity.
A Sedona Sunset
We had an outrageous sunset tonight over Sedona. Fortunately, I caught it from atop Scheurman Mountain, looking down upon Cathedral Rock. As wicked as the colors are in this shot, it was really amazing behind me. The colorful sky really lit up the red rocks making for an incredible, otherworldly look.

The Three Amigos
Well... Roadtrip 2014 is finally underway. I am in Prescott AZ and slowly heading northeast. Should be on the road in the motorhome for the next 5-6 months. On the agenda this year is a little bit of northern New Mexico. Mesa Verde National Park. Then settle into western Colorado for a while. Shoot places like Telluride, Ouray, Lake City, Crested Butte, and Grand Junction. Then head through southern Utah and all the way up to northern California. I would like to head up the coast and into…
