Ciaran Duffy, Paris sketches We went to Paris for a couple of days. These are some drawings of some of the buildings there. And, just a quick message to anybody who has an apartment in Paris; I hate you.
The sketching and shading is messy, as if the drawing was done with urgency. This raw, jagged style creates a sense of energy and an ever-changing quality, which is lost in perfect, overly planned sketches.
This snippet of a street scene in Barcelona comes from illustrator Miguel Herranz, who also writes about the couple sitting beside him in a cafe while he was drawing. His narrative is as interesting as his sketch.
