Diego Armando Maradona is widely considered a footballing genius. A joint winner (with Pelé) of the FIFA World Player of the Century award, Maradona is renowned for his vision of the game, ball control and amazing dribbling skills. One of the greatest players of all time, he is also one of the most controversial. Nicknamed "El Pibe de Oro" (The Golden Boy), Maradona is the first player to break the transfer record of the time twice: first in 1982 to Barcelona, then in 1984 to Napoli.
