This black tray or shallow serving bowl is made of an early plastic called phenolic resin with a wood and metal inlaid center decoration of an owl perched on a branch. The owl is about 3 inches tall. It sits on a silvertone metal branch and has brass eyes. The body looks like wood with a painted feather texture. This bowl dates to the 1950s or 1960s and is in very good condition for its age.
