Streamlined Science TEKS 5.7A ("Explore the processes that led to the formation of...fossil fuel.") Students will explore how fossil fuels were formed using slices of bread (white, and wheat, rye optional), chocolate chips, and gummy candies (gummy fish are best for the model). This hands-on investigation will have students create their own model. The PowerPoint walks teachers and students through the entire model-building process. Lesson ends with assessment items for quick-check opportunities.
