The Ecopod is a small and energy-efficient home design for on or off-grid living. Built from steel shipping containers, each Ecopod has a floor made from recycled car tires, walls insulated with a soy-based product and powered by an solar panel.
Built by CVDB arquitectos in Cartaxo, Portugal with date Images by FG+SG – Fernando Guerra. The house is located in a lot with 8 x 40 meters x 120 feet) in the urban historical fabric of the city of Cartax.
Showy Stairs ,architecturally point-on gas lantern, divided sidelights, and crisp white wainscoting. Stairs become an attention-grabbing centerpiece by mixing wood and white paint. Recessed panel newel posts echo the exterior columns.
The colorful vintage door which makes up the top of this unique coffee table was salvaged from the kitchen of an old home in the Turkish countryside. Note the hand-planed surface and the mortise and tenon construction. The base was custom-crafted to fit.
