This custom-made utensil holder from @shertzercreative is going to stand out in any kitchen it finds itself in! It was made out of a dried locust, and the outside was torched and brushed. It was then sealed with a few coats of Half & Half and then Wood Wax. Did you know this technique is called Shou Sugi Ban?
It's amazing to think something this beautiful was once part of a decaying plumb tree trunk. It definitely shows an amazing level of talent from @chipsandbeer! He sealed it with 2 coats of Zinsser Seal Coat before adding 2 coats of our Wood Wax. Wood Wax is made with Carnauba Wax and Walnut Oil! The Walnut Oil will get down into the pores of the wood to polymerize while the Carnauba Wax will cure on the surface. Protects from the inside out, and has a beautiful satin finish.
