The Boranas live in south Ethiopia. Diqoo, on the picture refused to be photographied, as soon as she saw the camera, she went into her woden house..but in fact she re-apprears few minuts later with this beautiful yellow-orange dress! She just wanted to be perfectly dressed for the picture. In many places of the world, i had this nice reaction from girls and women! © Eric Lafforgue www.ericlafforgue.com

The African Queen and My Bag
I guess every (street?) photographer carries with him the bitter bag of 'missed photos' – those he, for some reason, did not take (adequately). This beautiful African Queen was, recently added to my bag: What you don't see in the photo is the reason she is holding her hands this way: on her back, tight to her in the traditional way, she carries a cute little girl. Karrayyu tribe teenager - Ethiopia
Every eight years under a full moon, a tribe of Karrayyu priests gather in the Methara region, south of Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, for a ceremony to transfer power, this ceremony is named Gada. Five families share and govern the power. In two days, 10,000 people come, mainly by foot to help with the running of the ceremony. Absolutely no tourists are allowed in the proximity.
