I recently stumbled across a model of a VW beetle that was turned into a motorhome in a local toy store. Since I love the Lego VW Beetle (#10252) I instantly knew I had to build a Lego version of it. The instructions on how to build a motorhome out of a real VW Beetle were published in june 1977 in a magazine called "Mechanix Illustrated" and can still be purchased here. We would have been impressed with just a LEGO Ford pickup, but colognebrick went the extra mile with a fifth-wheel camper.

The sloped and pointed front was the major challenge in this build and it took a few revisions to get to this point. The flowers behind the window are based on Mr. Zumbi's minifig scale version.
