The White-rumped Shama (Copsychus malabaricus) is a small passerine bird of the family Muscicapidae. They are native to South and Southeast Asia, but have been introduced to Kaua'i, Hawai'i

White-rumped Shama is a colorful and one of the finest songbirds found in South and South East Asia. Typically there habitat is dense & bamboo forests. The male bird is around 25 cm and known to be very territorial. The bird was earlier placed in Thrush family hence it is also called Shama thrush.
