Statue depicting Margaret Wilson, the younger of the two women executed by drowning on the Solway Firth in Scotland in 1685. Margaret Wilson was a Scottish Covenanter who, on May 11, 1685, was executed by drowning at 18 yrs of age w/ her elderly friend Margaret McLachlan for refusing to swear on oath that James VII was the head of the church.
