Great East window panel 10h. York Minster Revealed This window is the largest expanse of medieval stained glass in Britain, the master-piece of Coventry glazier John Thornton. It was commissioned in 1405 and completed by 1408, information gleaned from 17th-century copies of the medieval contract, long since lost.
