Greek Patterns Handout
This high quality handout has examples of Greek Patterns for your students use in the Art Room! I use this handout when I make paper mache Greek vases with my 4th graders, and with my Kindergarteners when we make Greek Temples.
Most of my schools will be looking at the Olympics at some point this term. I am no great sportsman, so this is my contribution - the Ancient Greeks - tragedy and comedy. This term is all about 3d and sculpture. Times are hard and resources are hard to come by, so we are starting off with card. Based on the theatrical masks of Ancient Greece, the class chose tragic or comedic characters. Eyes and a mouth were cut from a folded piece of card, with the emphasis on symmetry and mood. A second…
How to Make a Water Clock

For this part I stand infront of the room to do a little symmetrical/asymmetrical dance. If I…

The tunnel book starts off as a regular accordion book and then halfway it flips up exposing a tunnel to the back page. It's a great project to incorporate writing and the visual arts. The tunnel section can represent a transition in the story, literal or figurative. With the Grade 6'rs it was part of their novel study. The had to choose a portion of the book they…
