This house was originally built around 1480 as a farmhouse and residential dwelling. Back then, Llanrwst’s main trade was wool. Later on, the building was used as a courthouse for the surrounding area. Over the centuries, this historic home lost favour as a courtroom due to its size, and eventually, it fell into disrepair. Clough wanted to recreate the atmosphere of the Mediterranean and bring it to the valleys of North Wales.
