A small Chinese Kraak dish or saucer, decorated in underglaze blue and dating from the late Ming Wanli period. The dish is typically decorated with a central scene of a bird on a rock among flowers and foliage. This is an unusually small size of dish, but dishes of this size were found in the Witte Leeuw (c1613).

Chinese Blue and White Glazed Porcelain Bowl Kangxi Mark and of the Period The deep rounded sides rising from a short straight foot to an everted rim, painted on the exterior with magpie perched on the branches of an old gnarled tree with others in flight amidst swirling clouds and constellations, the interior with a medallion of a bird perched on blossoming prunus, base with six-character Kangxi mark. Diameter 6 1/8 inches.
